A thirty-year veteran of the technology field, Don Byrne is an internationally recognized expert on risk management, regulatory compliance, data center operations, and business continuity planning.

Don is on the faculty of Boston University (BU) where he teaches graduate courses in risk management, business continuity planning, disaster recovery, I.T. operations, and regulatory compliance. He is a Senior Lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an Adjunct Professor at Univ. of NH where he teaches entrepreneurship.

From 2011 to 2014, Don was a Senior Research Fellow at the Stephenson Disaster Management Institute (SDMI) at Louisiana State University (LSU) where his research focused on business and community resiliency.

In addition to his work in North America, his experience includes extended assignments in most of Western Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East.

Since 2012 Don has been a Senior Instructor with EPI-AP where he teaches the company’s full suite of courses on data center operations and related industry standards.

Don serves as a technical advisor and consultant to many F100 companies as well as the American Red Cross, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

He is the chair of the TIA 942 Edge Integration Committee, sponsored by the Telephone Industry Association. Tis committee is developing standards for the operation of a new class of computing systems known as Edge Data Centers.

Don is currently working with the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) on a community resiliency study.

A veteran, Don is a graduate of the U.S. Army Chemical and Biological Warfare School. He holds fourteen professional certifications including Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), three ISO Lead Auditor certifications, and is a Certified TIA 942 auditor (data center infrastructure).

He is the host of the Business I.Q. Radio Show which can be heard on WBNH (105.1 FM) in New Hampshire. His academic credentials include degrees in mathematics, philosophy, and marketing.
